Just so you know where it would go if you were to donate:
In 2004 Ruby donated:
over 100 yards of kid friendly fabric and boxes of other supplies to a UMW quilter's group to make small quilts for children in an orphanage in the Carribean.
Helped to deliver Quilts to the island home.
Repaired the sewing machine for the Lady of the House so she can resume sewing name patches for income.
Sent fabric, and sewing supplies, and garden vegetable seeds to new friends at the Carribean Mission. They made curtains first, then projects for sale to tourists. The vegetables are sold to resorts to support the Mission.
In 2005, with help from and to UMCOR, Ruby and friends:
Knit caps and ear warmers went to Marines in Iraq
Fabric CoolTies went to Marines in Iraq with boxes of underwear, socks, soap, sunlotion, etc.
Slippers went to The Ships Project
Made trips to Louisiana and Mississippi with a Truck and Trailer full of supplies
Spent 5 weeks, total, in service with UMCOR in Huricane relief areas
In 2006 Ruby donated:
Yarn: a large size Lawn & Leaf bag full of yarn went to the local Arts Council
yarn went to the local elementary school art teacher for crafts and art projects
